My life and work revolve around great food and great people.

I’ve worked in food and beverage for over twenty years, initially in hospitality and retail, and now as a journalist, photographer and marketer for small businesses. My work has always been about celebrating craft and quality, promoting deliciousness, nurturing collaboration, and telling the stories of passionate producers. Essentially I’ve made a career out of being a fan.

I ran my own small retail business - The Chocolate Bar - for seven years, and throughout that time became a leading voice for the craft chocolate movement in New Zealand. I write about chocolate for national and international publications, host talks and tastings around the country, organise chocolate events and festivals, and regularly judge at the International Chocolate Awards and the New Zealand Chocolate Awards. I love being part of the international bean-to-bar chocolate scene and I’ve helped to launch, develop and guide many small-scale chocolate makers as they embark on their business journey.

Before working professionally with chocolate I was involved in the craft beer industry for over ten years, leading to my journalism being focussed predominantly on beer and chocolate. I also work with a variety of clients to create fresh, interesting and beautiful content for social media, websites and blogs. I’ve been honoured to photograph some of the finest restaurants in Wellington and to run marketing campaigns for incredible food producers in Europe and Oceania.

My interests, passions and skills are eclectic, but they’re all about connecting people, building communities, and being the conduit between businesses and their customers. I specialise in knowing how to speak to audiences, fan-to-fan, and I delight in helping entrepreneurs communicate with clarity and finesse.
